Privacy

This page explains what information this website collects, why, and what we do with it. It is written in plain language on purpose.

What We Collect

When you request an appointment online, we ask for your first name (your last name is optional), your mobile number, your street address, and your email address if you want email updates or our monthly deals email. We also ask about your car (license plate, VIN, or year, make and model, and about how many miles are on it), what it needs, and the day and time that suit you. We note where your visit started, for example Google, Instagram or our email, along with your request.

When you call, text or stop by, we ask for your name, phone number and details about your vehicle so we can schedule and confirm your visit.

When you use the site, it counts the pages viewed, the buttons tapped (such as call, text, directions and schedule), the kind of device (phone, tablet or computer) and its system (such as iPhone, Android or Windows), whether the page was opened inside an app such as Instagram, and where the visit came from, such as a search engine, a social app, an ad or a link in our email. These counts do not identify you.

Proof of What You Agreed To. When you tick a box on our form or change your email choices, we keep the exact words you agreed to, the date and time, the type of browser you used, and a scrambled code made from your internet address. The code lets us show the choice was made without keeping the address itself.

In Your Browser. While your browser tab is open, the site remembers which page you first arrived on and the answers you have typed into the request form, so a reload does not lose them. This stays in your browser until you send the form, and it is cleared when you close the tab.

How We Use It

  • To schedule your service, confirm the time with you, and talk with you about your car.
  • To keep your address with your request and on your customer record.
  • To send the monthly deals email, only if you ticked that box or asked us to add you.
  • To keep the website working, safe from abuse, and easy to use.

Who Else Handles It

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with other companies for their own marketing.

  • Website Hosting and Security. The site runs on Cloudflare, which handles your internet address to deliver pages and block attacks. When our server contacts another company's service for you, such as the vehicle database below, Cloudflare may include your internet address with that request.
  • Finding Your Car. If you enter a VIN, our server sends it to the free vehicle database run by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to look up the year, make and model.
  • Address Suggestions. As you type your street address on our request form, what you type is sent through our server to Photon, which suggests matching addresses. Photon is a free address search run by komoot, using OpenStreetMap data. If Photon does not answer or finds no match, what you type goes to Geoapify, another address search service, instead. Either service may also receive your internet address.
  • The Map. The map on our pages is provided by Google Maps. When it loads, Google receives your internet address and may use its own cookies, under Google's privacy policy.
  • Email Delivery. Emails about your request and the monthly deals email are sent through email delivery companies, which receive your email address and the message so they can deliver it.
  • Alerts to our team. When you send a request, our team may get an alert about it by email, by text message or as a notification on their phones and computers, so someone can answer you quickly. Alerts can include the details from your request. The companies that deliver them, such as email and text message services, mobile carriers and the notification services built into web browsers, handle that information to deliver it.

We do not share mobile numbers or texting consent with anyone for their marketing. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information won't be shared with any third parties.

The Monthly Deals Email

You get it only if you ask for it. It comes about once a month with our current deals and car-care tips. Every email has an unsubscribe link that works in one click, and a link to an email preferences page where you can turn it back on or off. Our emails do not contain hidden tracking images. Links in the email carry a simple tag so our site can count visits that came from the email as a whole, not who clicked.

Texts and Calls

We use your number to respond to you and to talk about your request and your car. Those texts do not include deals. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop texts. Our Terms of Service describe our text programs.

Text alerts for our team. Members of our team can sign up in our website editor for text alerts about new requests. We use the mobile number they give only to send those alerts, and we keep a record of their sign-up and of any STOP reply.

Cookies and Tracking

This site does not set cookies to track visitors and does not show ads. The Google map described above is the one exception: Google may set its own cookies when the map loads. No other company collects information about your activity on this site. The site works the same way whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, because we do not follow you across other websites.

How Long We Keep It

We keep your requests and contact details for as long as we need them to serve you and keep our records, and we delete them when you ask. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information, we keep a scrambled fingerprint of your email address and the record of your choices, so we never email you again by mistake and can show what you agreed to.

Your Choices

Children

This site is meant for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
